These graphics shows the results of studies conducted by microbiology laboratories in USA, UK, France, Chile and Dubai 1-5. These studies confirm that the Colony Forming Units (CFU) of Staphylococcus aureus MRSA and Escherichia coli DH5α and other common microbes, falls abruptly during the first minutes in contact with PLACTIVE, continuing the elimination of bacterial strains until reaching >99.99% elimination at 24 hours.

Antiviral Activity of Copper

 Copper is also a powerful antiviral agent

Copper and Nano Copper inhibits the replication and propagation abilities of SARS- CoV1, influenza2 and other respiratory viruses, having a high antimicrobial (antiviral and antibacterial) potential and, as Copper can inactivate viruses as SARS-like and SARS- Cov1, influenza virus2, H1N1, and eliminates dangerous bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Listeria, among others, after a short period of exposure, Copper3D’s PLACTIVE® and Mdflex® could be an effective and low-cost complementary strategy to help reducing transmission of several infectious diseases by limiting nosocomial infectious transmission.

Antimicrobial additive Cuprionix®️ tested against Human Coronavirus

 Cuprionix®️ additives are the result of more than 10 years of R&D by teams of Chilean scientists that have been based on the powerful antimicrobial properties of copper to develop a portfolio of additives, materials and solutions scientifically proven by the most prestigious international laboratories.
The latest validation that this technology has received was given by the Pasteur Institute (France), which verifies the powerful antiviral action of the Cuprionix®️ additive against Human Coronavirus.

Dr. Claudio Soto, Medical Director of Copper3D, said: “Laboratory validations with viruses have a much higher degree of complexity due to the additional safeguards that must be taken, the type of equipment and highly specialized personnel to perform this kind of tests, and the laboratories prepared for this type of studies are not commonly found as they require high biosafety levels”.
This is why Copper3D has chosen the Pasteur Institute (Lille, France) to carry out this new test against the Human Coronavirus.
Dr. Soto mentions regarding this new validation: “As a company we are always looking for our materials to meet the highest industry standards and therefore we decided to test the antiviral capacity of the additive present in all Copper3D products (Cuprionix® additive), against Human Coronavirus strain 229E (HCoV-229E), under the EN14476 + A2 standard, with extraordinary results so far”.

Among what was observed, the additive shows a very high antiviral efficacy from the first 30 seconds, capable of reducing the viral load of the Coronavirus by +99.9% in less than one hour.
This process is very quick and begins in the first 30 seconds to see a rapid decrease in viral load of 60.189% (Log 0,4), 90% (Log 1) of reduction at 5 minutes, until reaching a plateau near 60 minutes with a 99.975% of viral reduction (Log 3.6).
On the other hand, and equally relevant, is that this additive did not show any degree of cytotoxicity in this test, therefore we can conclude that it is also safe for use in applications that will be in contact with patients or animals.
